Q: What's up, Steve? Where the hell have you been?

A: Well me and emeric drove out to cali the day after the ES video premier whatever day that was and he home but i stayed here, basically i wanted to skate all winter and try and get some photos so thats what i have been doing.

Q: How's your leg?

A: My leg is great! it has fully heald and i want to thank each and every person that sent me e-mails and letters cause it kept me stokked!!!!!

STEVE IN THE NEW THRASHER (APRIL 2001)

Q: Who have you been skating with out there?

A: Clint is here so i skate with him but also judd hertzler, mike rusyke,stephan janowski,kyle leeper,karma, alan petersen,and usaully there is a crew of people at some of the spots we go and a few time i skated with john cardiel and it was insane!!!!!!

Q: Anyone up and coming we should watch for?

A: A lot of rippers out here but keep your eyes out for judd hertzler and you can see him in the new foundation video, stephan janowski is killing and of coure the consolidated team!!!!!!

Q: I heard there was some trouble at Consolidated...

A: Yes there was some trouble but i believe that things have been worked out. yes i still ride for them and so does clint, seth,howard cooke, karma, richard paez,ryan wilburn,steve baily,and alan petersen, things are ruling at the cube!

Q: Do you ever get homesick out there?

A: Yes i do get a little homesick for the fobia crew and the spots and skating with everybody that skates there cause i love those sessios but to get stuff done in the winter this is the place. and half of my family is in mn and half here so it works out.

Q: So what's an average day for you?

A: Well basically i wake up about 10am then i get some food somewhere usually some toast or this bagel place by the house, then call up judd to see whats the plan and then we hook-up go skating try shoot photo's or film some stuff then as night comes around we either go play pool or just chill out unless there is a party and there are some gnarly parties!

Q: Have you ever gotten an 8 ball break? Muldoon and I are into bowling now. We skate 'til close then go bowling.

A: No i never had an 8 ball break but i have busted my nuts on rails before. and then i hurt and cant go bowling...

Q: Are you working?

A: No i don't work cause i saved up some money while working over the summer and i still have some leftover so i am runnig out and will probably be coming back as soon as i am broke...

Q: Does it seem like California even considers Minnesota as far as a skate scene goes? When I tell people from Cali where I'm from I may as well say the North Pole.

A: Well if you look in the new thrasher at the t-eddy awards it list minneapolis as a hot city so everybody is staring to notice us!

Q: Which comes first, the trick or the spot? Do you even worry about that?

A: The spot definetly comes first , no spot no trick.

Q: Out of ten girls in California, how many have fake tits?

A: I would say most of the girls boobs in the bay area are real cause its kinda hippie here.

Q: Are you hitting some big rails out there?

A: I am hitting all the ones i can and thankfully they are not hitting back, were getting stuff done lets put it that way.

Q: Any new tricks your working on?

A: Well i am always working on new tricks that just comes with skateboarding and the more you do it the more tricks just start rolling in. plus playing "skate" is a great way to learn tricks plus warm up...

Q: Do you have any contests coming up?

A: Yes sir we are going to vancouver for the slam city jam contest and that is in may i think...

Q: What did you think of Tampa?

A: Tampa was sick, so much good skating and we all did pretty good and had alot of fun so if you want to be in a good contest thats the one.

Q: Do you ever go to skateparks around there or mostly stick to natural spots?

A: Well i go to parks alot but mostly street stuff cause there are some amazing places out here. but the parks are crazy to.

Q: Would you consider living in California full time?

A: As of right now i would say no cause its very exspensive and i really want to be around fobia and mpls cause i love it there,, but maybe in the future , i dont know.

Q: Who's your favorite pro skater?

A: Brian Anderson for sure but i also like jackson taylor, john cardiel, alex trainwreck gall, quim cardona, kevin taylor, and a bunch more but to many to list.

Q: Of the coverage that you've received lately what have you been most stoked on?

A: Well i am so stokked on all of it and seeing the photos makes me feel good cause mpls skaters don't get that much coverage and it shows that its changing.

Q: Any plans to turn pro?

A: Well i am sure if things go right it will happen but for now i am gonna just keep skating my ass off and not really think of it, but someday.

Q: Anyone you want to say anything to in Minnesota?

A: Yeah i want to thank everyone at fobia cause without fobia i don't know where i would be and to everybody else whos stokked on skateboarding... and to the cops your not gonna get me this year . and everybody should watch out for scotty macintosh and curtis cause they got the juice and you will see this summer.
