GETTING OUT OF THE HOUSE

I feel like I got hit by a bus. But in a good way. I'll be 33 this year and that was the longest day of skating I've had in a long time. The 2005 Backyard Ramp jam is all over and it was a hell of a time. I want to thank Luke for all the work he put into it. The bus, beer, prizes, and all the time he put in. We need more stuff like this - organic reasons for skaters from all over the place to get together and have fun. All the ramps were fun and there was a hot subway session too. It was hard to tell how many people were there. I'd say between 30 and 40 or around there.
I was stoked to see some tranny skills coming out from the younger guys. Jamiel's kickflip noseslides, C.J.'s switch flips, Noah was killing it and Josh destroyed the bowl at 3rd Lair. He was awarded best run of the day. Jay Jenson got best old school trick with the best backside layback of all time, Rob got best trick with a backside 360 boneless off a filing cabinet extension at Fred's, Jeff Amendola got worst slam when his head collided with Jeff Chase's knee which sent Jeff spinning horizontally across Fred's warehouse. Jeff barely even felt it. Best host went to Dusty who attended a funeral that day and still rocked it for his friends. Bob and Rob were shitcaked at Dusty's but B.J. took the cake. He was doing some crazy fetal positions in the yard when I left. Hope you're feeling okay this morning. Turkey was cracking me up all night too. My favorite line was overhearing him say 'I was killing that spot when you were still "Mommy, can I have a cookie and watch Pokemon?"'. Sorry if I missed anyone. I had a great time. It was good to see so many faces. There were a lot of young guys I didn't get a chance to chat with but it was fun skating with all of you. Here are some random shots of the day.
